How Lana Del Rey reinvented herself ... and modern-day rock stardom
She is scheduled to play at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Outside Lands in San Francisco in August, but has no performances scheduled in the South or surrounding areas. As it turns out, O’connell said, is that Del Rey simply has family ties in the small town (pop. 40,000), is good at making fast friends and just loves hanging at diners. “This guy, a regular, comes in every day and orders two things, so they were like, ‘Just go get it for him! And an empty cup,” she said, miming that the second cup was for the man’s tobacco spit juice. After, the restaurant’s manager, who goes unnamed in the interview, posted a short clip to Facebook, which set off the rumor mill. Lana never apologized for her statements, instead, she tried to defend them and ended up losing more fans and supporters who said the singer just couldn't own up to her mistakes and learn from them.
However, Lana dismissed these claims in an interview as she said she just looked pouty while singing and had done nothing at all to her body. Other fans criticized Lana for using sexuality to sell her music. As Lizzy, the singer, didn't sexualize her music, but when she transformed, her art was sexualized. Lana's fans also said the comments about the singer gaining weight are often cruel. Another fan said she was happy that Lana had gained weight because she claimed it meant the singer was finally off drugs and happy. Someone added that Lana looked like a "rubber glove full of cottage cheese." The "Summertime Sadness" singer's physique has been a target for body-shamers with cruel comments.

“Lana Del Rey went to visit the ‘Waffle House’ restaurant and ended up working in uniform serving fans,” a fan account claimed in an Instagram post on Thursday. Del Rey was also spotted on North Court Street in downtown Florence, Alabama, Tuesday night when she signed makeup artist Savana Vinson’s left arm. Vinson shared a video and other cool images from her brief encounter with Del Rey, who appeared poised and smiling in images Vinson and other fans have shared. “Had so much fun with Lana Del Rey, she is so humble , funny and such a good sport!! ” Tuttle wrote on Facebook, posting pictures and video on July 20. Lana's pictures and videos working at the restaurant flocked to social media, and her fans were quick to express their surprise.
"The optics of Lana, a white woman, complaining about feminism lacking space for her while critiquing the acclaim allotted to several Black pop artists is mortifying." Critics said the singer lacked authenticity because of how she quickly changed everything about herself so that she could become loved by the masses. Later, when the likes of Cardi B and Nicki Minaj became popular for sexualizing their art, Lana said she would like to go back to singing the way she wanted without being crucified.
The "Young and Beautiful" singer has been trolled because of her weight gain, but in the past, she was at the center of controversy due to her statements and actions that had some of her fans criticizing her. In the before pictures, the singer was slim, but in the after pictures, she had added a few pounds. The account that originally shared the pictures was deleted, but they have since been reshared by another Twitter account, @ChampagneCheri9. Lana became popular when her song "Video Games" went viral, which now has over 300 million views. After this song, she released other hits, such as "Blue Jeans," which also raked in millions of views.
The singer noted that she was tired of female writers who said her songs glamorized abuse when she was just singing about the realities of many relationships, which are currently prevalently emotionally abusive. This isn't the first time Lana has been a target online, as she was once cruelly trolled by a few people defending her. Lizzy's unsuccessful songs, appearances, and album were scrubbed from the internet. Their existence was replaced with Lana's appearance on major talk shows, songs that topped charts, and albums that crept to top numbers on pre-sales alone. She added that Del Rey told her she was recording in the area and visiting with friends. Following the release of her sweeping, critically-acclaimed album Did you you know there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd earlier this year, Lana Del Rey is enjoying her summer with a shift at a Waffle House in Alabama.
At the end of her stay before leaving for a concert in Arkansas, she also did an impromptu recording session at legendary Sheffield recording studio Muscle Shoals Sound. Lana Del Rey‘s fans are fascinated with pretty much everything the “A&W” singer does, especially when they get a rare chance to interact with her offstage, in the wild. That’s why when she popped into a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama in July and worked a shift pouring coffee and chatting the patrons up — she even had an official “Lana” name tag — it briefly broke the internet. Tuttle additionally also appears to have met Del Rey prior to the singer’s adventure at the diner chain, posing for photos out of uniform in a July 19 post.
"It doesn't matter who it is, even if people would wait for them," cohost Sarah Haines added. AL.com checked in with the Shoals’ iconic recording studios, FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound, to see if Del Rey has been recording with them and were told she has not. Del Rey also served coffee to at least one customer — who was totally unaware of his celeb server — according to a TikToker who was in the restaurant. That July morning, she’d been at the Florence Waffle House with her brother and sister for three hours hanging out. From the wording of O’Connell’s lede, it sounds like Del Rey and fam had been stopping in at that Waffle House for several days, sitting at the same booth each visit. Was she “going Method” for a switch to acting or recording an orange juice commercial? Were royalties from streaming simply not cutting it anymore? For two months, Del Rey—as she is wont to do—left fans in the dark. The 38-year-old singer-songwriter was spotted Thursday (July 20) pouring coffee and chatting with customers at a Waffle House location in Florence, Ala., in full employee uniform complete with a “Lana” name tag. During break times, she was able to snap a few photos with fans, blue vape pen in hand.
Back in July, reports and social media posts began popping up showing the six-time Grammy-nominated recording artist at several spots around Florence. Not only did she pose for photos and selfies with fans at a local nail salon and a Texas Roadhouse restaurant, she was also spotted at a Waffle House in the area. After pictures of the “A&W” singer in full, powder blue uniform (name tag and all) started popping up on Twitter/X, fan speculation began to border on conspiracy. No, per AL.com, which contacted multiple studios in the area to check their schedules. Was she recording a new music video, perhaps for the song “Paris, Texas,” which mentions Florence?
“This why she will forever be my queen + she writes some of the best songs of all time,” a third said. Her supporters flooded social media with elated reactions to her down-to-earth display. LANITA I have been a huuuge fan of Lana Del Rey for over a decade, so meeting her today was truly insane,” Juarez captioned the post.

The mansion's parlors and bedrooms now served as guest lodging, losing the elegance of their previous incarnations. The war had taken its toll on Savannah, so operating the old house as a hotel provided much needed accommodations. An almost-identical house was built in 1928[20] at 102 East Gaston Street,[21] just beyond the northeastern corner of Forsyth Park. The Olde Pink House (also known as The Pink House and, formerly, Habersham House) is a restaurant and tavern in Savannah, Georgia, United States. Located on Abercorn Street, in the northwestern trust lot of Reynolds Square, the building dates from 1771.[4] It is bounded by East Bryan Street to the north, Abercorn Street to the east and East Saint Julian Street to the south. When renovations were complete, the Habersham-Clay house had emerged as the Olde Pink House restaurant.
The mansion followed this trajectory when purchased in the 1870s by a consortium establishing a bank. Their tenure left an indelible mark during an important transitional period as Savannah evolved from provincial colony to refined American city. During Clay's tenure as mayor of Savannah from 1805 to 1806, he and his family took up residence in the mansion. As Savannah progressed into the 19th century, the stately Habersham house passed into the hands of prominent political leader Joseph Clay. With their low ceilings, fireplaces, and limited seating, they resemble the type of formal but cozy spaces where Georgia's early aristocracy would have entertained friends for elaborate dinners.

From the allure of deep hunter green to the playfulness of lime, there’s a shade of green that will complement your style. Whether it’s a fresh spring vibe or festive winter charm, your nails can be a canvas to reflect seasonal joy. For a darker shade, forest green provides a more refined and distinguished look, bringing the calm of woodsy tones to your fingertips.
Add as many as you like and your nails will look feminine and punchy. These gorgeous lime green nails are one of the best creations we gathered in store for you. Create some melting tips, and you’ll take your mani to a whole new scale. A French manicure design with green tips and a rainbow at the base perfectly fits the theme of St. Patrick’s Day, giving the manicure a fun and festive look.
For my fair-skinned beauties, go for lighter, brighter greens. These shades will pop against your skin, making any outfit stand out. Imagine pairing mint green nails with a soft pink blouse for a look that’s sweet yet sophisticated. If you're feeling a moodier shade, may I suggest this dark-green nail polish idea?
For example, you can start with a dark green at the base of the nail and smoothly transition to a lighter shade at the tip. This style creates an iridescent effect and adds an interesting visual element. So, there you have it, a guide to making epic green nail designs not just a part of your beauty routine, but a staple in your fashion arsenal.

‘Above Horizon’ has openings in the ceiling and wall, both programmed to open smoothly as you watch. According to the author, 11 Horizon Homes were built in Southern California. One has been lovingly restored by aerospace executive Einar Johnson and his partner, silk scarves importer Pat Gough. (The couple, big fans of Midcentury Modern, also own a 1962 Ray Kappe home in Los Angeles.) Johnson was looking online for another home closer to his new workplace in Irvine in 2004 when he spied architect George Bissell’s futuristic-looking 1964 Laguna Niguel residence. He was intrigued by the round dwelling, with its pie shape and cantilevered concrete roof as well as the uninterrupted wall of glass that forms the perimeter of the house with every room opening to the outdoor landscaping and views.

The location of the Goldstein Skyspace art piece is in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. The difficult building site made the logistics of constructing the concrete shell structure on a caisson foundation difficult. The Goldstein Skyspace was original envisioned by owner James Goldstein to be a collaboration between artist James Turrell and architect John Lautner, states the website ‘Architectoid – Learning Architecture for life’. Unfortunately Lautner passed away before the project came to fruition.

The fashion-forward millionaire and self-described basketball “super fan” is said to have made his fortune in real estate. Goldstein purchased the property in 1972 and painstakingly restored it with Lautner. After Lautner’s death in 1994, Goldstein worked with a Lautner protégé to construct a three-story “entertainment complex” next door; the building includes Club James, which recently hosted a combined Valentine’s-Grammy nomination party for producer Mark Ronson and Jamie xx.
